The definitive, stand-alone companion book to the acclaimed documentary - now with 50 plant-based recipes and full-color photos to help you start changing your health for the better There’s something terribly broken in our industrial food, medical, and pharmaceutical systems. What’s going wrong? Can we really avoid the leading causes of death just by changing our diet? Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn, creators of the revolutionary What the Health and the award-winning Cowspiracy documentaries, take listeners on a science-based tour of the hazards posed by consuming animal products - and what happens when we stop. What the Health will guide you on an adventure through this maze of misinformation with the same fresh, engaging approach that made the documentary so popular. Journey with Andersen and Kuhn as they crisscross the country, talking to doctors, dietitians, public health advocates, whistle-blowers, and world-class athletes, to uncover the truth behind the food we eat. With the help of writer Eunice Wong, they empower eaters with knowledge about the lethal entwining of the food, medical, and pharmaceutical industries, and about the corporate web that confuses the public and keeps Americans chronically - and profitably - ill. PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

I live on steak (and bacon!) as do many of my ex-vegan friends. We saw the light, and now we are doing great. We were not doing so great just eating plants. Simply not enough nutrition there. We learned our lesson. And, yes, we know the science extremely well. Every day more and more vegans are starting to include healthy animal proteins in their diets, and their health is getting much better. Now, please pass the salt!

AS a vegan for 30 years living in a vegan community I can say that the commentor trashing lies above has no value, maybe the only value is the retroalimentation of me commenting after his trash

Thanks a lot as always, Guest.

This post by learnaloud is a great example of boomer logic in action. If they even hear the word ‘plant based’ they’ll double down just like the boomers on the topic of Russiagate. ‘Facts’, to them are code talk for commie pinko trash and ‘evidence’ is ‘Putin puppet’ talk.
In other words, they do exactly what they’re told and the corporate propaganda coming from the Animal Agriculture industry has fed them all of the talking points they need, just like the Russiagate narrative.
“But bacon” followed by a few anecdotes with ZERO citation… These people are a corporate oligarchs wet dream, if only every citizen could be just like them…
What The Health is literally based on facts and evidence and if you don’t believe me, check out this list of peer-reviewed citations below.

I work as a nutritional professional. Have been doing this for over 20 years. I read and study everything. All facets of nutrition. The peer review information from “What The Health” is peer-reviewed by other vegans.Very biased. If being a vegan is working for you, then fantastic, but it does not work for a lot of people. I will read another 40 books this year on health, wellness, and nutrition. I study it all. Very in-depth. Going back at least 150 years. I think this is the best way. This way, you can make educated choices. Few people are willing to take the time and trouble to do this, but if you do, the payoff is huge! I wish everyone excellent health and a great life! Cheers!

@learnaloud
so you contradict your fellow nutritional professionals:
“It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. Plant-based diets are more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer natural resources and are associated with much less environmental damage. Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity. Low intake of saturated fat and high intakes of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, soy products, nuts, and seeds (all rich in fiber and phytochemicals) are characteristics of vegetarian and vegan diets that produce lower total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and better serum glucose control. These factors contribute to reduction of chronic disease. Vegans need reliable sources of vitamin B-12, such as fortified foods or supplements. ”

Dear tazz, please feel free to follow that advice. My studies show that it is not at all sound science or advice but do as you wish. I have no agenda one way or another, only to know (to the very best of my ability) what is fact and what is fiction. But, few people are willing to take the time and trouble to do this. As Big Food, Big Pharma, and Big Health push forward with their respective agendas, there is no shortage of information out there from highly credible sources promoting poor ways of health and nutrition. The system is working very well. They want to get you sick, keep you sick, get all or most of your money, and then let you die and move onto the next person. The system is working very well. So, as you wish, do whatever you feel like. I wish for you a long, healthy and happy life! Cheers.

you tell that to the current longest living population (7th day adventists in california) where vegans are doing very well among them.
June 18th, 2021
Dear tazz, it is not true that Seventh Day Adventists are the longest living. The Mormons, who consume meat, out live Seventh Day Adventists. But the current long and healthy living are in Hong Kong, where many consume 1.5 pounds of meat a day. I highly recommend the book, “The Carnivore Code” by former vegan Dr. Paul Saladino. One of the best books on human nutrition I’ve read yet. Also, “The Vegetarian Myth” also by a former vegan. Filled with very good science, and written by highly qualified people who do know what they are talking about and do not cherry pick studies. All the very best.

so u are implying a plant based diet is worse than a carnivore diet? i would see unprocessed meat as rather neutral to health outcomes. while properly planned vegan diets can have a lot of benefits. i think if a person has had too many refined carbs over his or her lifetime of course this person is gonna profit from switching to a different diet so the body is not damaged anymore (or rather from a different angle)
