Einstein didn’t give a damn about all this … he simply looked at science, as a body of general propositions expressing discovered facts, where, in a system of thought that is fundamentally clear, even if not entirely so, new theories usually make old ones obsolete. So, no rival doctrines, as in philosophy or politics, all many times refuted yet not abandoned and continue to recruit adherents.
