  Actually, in America’s perspective, this is politically CORRECT version of communism.
  It’s actually kinda funny how the word “elite” means “corrupt” nowadays. And how empathy and social security are for losers. Well, one can hope COVID-19 change that a bit.

  Haven’t read the book (and really need it to know how horrible communism and advanced socialism can be), but I really wish this kind of stuff was actually taught on par with the socialist ideology at least. Universities these days are too busy brainwashing the kids

  Communism was the basis of human life for the vast majority of human history and prehistory. Another book, called ‘Debt: The First 5,000 Years,’ which was recently uploaded, makes this point quite well.

  Sick of the rich and their sycophants conflating authoritarianism with socialism and communism. Silly slippery slope fallacy. No, the rich paying the tax rate they paid in 1970 will not result in a totalitarian dictator state, as evidenced by the fact that we didn’t have one in the 70s.

  Any book that describes any idea as ‘dangerous’ is propaganda, not an educational text.

We need to expose how Marxist heresy (conflated by shoddy thinkers with their fantasy assumptions of pre-Marxist “socialisms” that didn’t exist) enables human depravity to incarnate preternatural evil every time it has or will be tried. Only virtuous humans can have a virtuous system, yet even a virtuous human cannot make the evil system of communism temporarily work without authoritarianism and collapse.

  Funnily enough, it is mostly those who never lived in socialist or “communist” countries that write the most “popular” (science fiction) books about how evil socialist societies were.

  On the other hand, most surveys in formerly socialist countries tell us that those who lived in socialism want it back and those who were born later think a better system than the current one can exist and it looks like - ah, socialism again.

  And funny that socialist countries started mostly as colonies throughout the 20th century, poor and oppressed, with low levels of general education, and then and under socialism significantly raised the level of education, healthcare for all, life expectancy, many finally got rid of their colonialist invaders and gained fragile independence (frequently followed by USA/UK coups and covert operations).

  Funny that those who had only years or several decades to give socialism a try are labelled as failure by those whose countries had centuries to enjoy the fruits of colonialist supremacy and invasions around the world, economy underpinned by organised thievery, buildup of wealth based on other people’s sweat, and capitalism that created the largest inequality ever in the known universe.

  I can’t remember who it was that Cuba attacked to be under 60 years of US sanctions. Was it the US government and secret services that placed nuclear weapons at the doorstep of the USSR, in Turkey, and lied about it and gave false promises until Soviets installed the same at the US doorstep in Cuba? Or was it that the US is crippling Cuban people’s lives and economy for no reason other than madness and spite? And US citizens watch it in complacency?

  Which country started all these wars around the world? Cuba? Nicaragua? Korea? Vietnam? Iraq? Libya? Syria? Yugoslavia? Laos? Cambodia? Middle East? Latin America?

  Good book, I’ve studied both sides of the historical coin and I can honestly say it’s good to hear, ‘what I would consider is common sense history’.
  Ché Guevara was at first some one who was admirable then respected for his views of freedom etc but as a freedom fighter against those abusing power he obviously had blood on his hands though when he found that blood was also full of power as well as fear, abeyance, control and then he turned into a torturer, murderer and revelled in cruelty once he had the power in his hands. Which is disappointing but true.

  Petezete, those countries you mention, they did start their own wars, many of them. America did at one point or another get involved for brief moments of time in a few and caused chaos but those countries had wars before the USA triggered war and those countries will have wars after triggered by their own views.
  Answer me this, if socialism is so wonderful and beneficial to society why is it that we don’t see thousands of citizens from our capitalist societies boating, smuggling themselves or even booking flights to integrate themselves into said functional society. I know we do see thousands of persons over the years from Cuba trying to get into America. Discounting humanitarian needs, because why would anyone need to escape a wonderful functional society with great healthcare to get into the USA etc for humanitarian reasons, that would mean the communist socialist country is not functional. Blessings
