  Ko introduces the term zoological racism, which captures how racism is maintained by the human/animal binary. Within this setup, white supremacy is both anti-Black and anti-animal, and exploitation of those who are deemed “animal” is normalized. She shows us how concepts such as speciesism, intersectionality, and diversity don’t adequately encompass the complex realities of oppression and/or effective approaches to dismantle it.   The finest expression of mental illness this year, on a par with Van Gogh cutting his own ear off but it lasts for more than 4 whole hours!

  I cannot recommend this enough. It’s the kind of book that changes lives because once you’ve heard how insane it is, you’re likely to stop believing this kind of nonsense forever.
