What You’ll Learn
This program includes all of Spanish Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. With this program you start from zero, learning first survival phrases and vocabulary, and eventually progressing to a high-intermediate level of speaking and understanding Spanish. By Level 5 the pace and conversation move quite rapidly, accelerating exposure to new vocabulary and structures, approaching native speed and comprehension. You’ll learn to speak more in-depth about your personal life and emotional state, and be able to create complex sentences using a mix of tenses and moods. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Spanish.
At the completion of this course, you’ll speak confidently using your wide-ranging vocabulary, and experience the language and culture with a deepening insight into a new world.
Reading Lessons are included for each level. In Level 1, you’ll learn to sound out words then phrases and sentences. In Levels 2-5, you’ll continue to practice reading, improve your pronunciation, and learn new vocabulary. Before you know it, you’ll be reading with the ease and flexibility of a native speaker.
Learning the sound of each letter alone and in culturally distinct combinations allows your brain to process what you’re hearing in the audio lessons from a new and different perspective. It’s a powerful combination that makes Pimsleur different from every other method on the market.

I’m pretty sure that this ISN’T the Castilian Spanish course. Many of the references are to Latin American cities or countries etc. Without going through the entire course, I’m sure that it’s the Latin American Spanish course.

there are many instances within the recordings that when you speaking it asks you to use castellaño in place of Español, it flips back and forth throughout the series to help you get used to both terms. its very good mate. i highly recommend you give it a try if you are interested in learning a new language its 10/10 teaching content.

Hi Deadfox, Pimsleur Castilian Spanish units usually start with Castilian in the introduction, for example “This is Unit 1 of Pimsleurs Castilian Spanish 2″

Its not, it’s Latin American Spanish.
But its confusing as the phrase 20 in the first lesson is “Hablo un poco de castellano.”=”I speak a little castellano”
BUT…..That phrase is only in the Latin American booklet!!
In the Castilian booklet phrase 20 is “Soy de Sevilla”=I am from Seville!!
I live in Spain so if someone could post the Castilian course I would be very grateful!!

Anyone who’s thinking about downloading this, get the “Pimsleur Complete Collection” torrent instead and just download the “Spanish - Latin American” folder. It has newer editions of levels 1-3 with more modern vocabulary, and the audio quality for 2, 3 and 5 is much better. It also has the Castilian Spanish course.
Only download this if you specifically want the older editions, or Spanish Plus (which was replaced by level 4), or the Learn Spanish Express CD.
