When I consulted to Educational Testing Service, a friend, and the head of the ESL (English as a Second Language) testing program was an American woman of English descent. But, she had married a Chinese professor from Beijing & had lived in Beijing for decades. Her accent was so perfect that Chinese associates at ETS said that on the phone they couldn’t tell she wasn’t a Chinese Beijing native. We had a number of Chinese nationals working at ETS & they’d sit at one table at lunch & discuss their co-workers in detail in Mandarin. She liked to sit at the next table and then give the rest of us the rundown about who thought what about each of us. It is somewhat xenophobic, methinks, to assume foreigners can’t speak your language better than you can. Bwahahahaha. When I came back from my sophomore year of college in Mexico, I loved listening to these two Hispanic ladies who would usually take the same bus & discuss the relative sexual attractions of the Anglo men in the bus. I never said a word to them until the last day on my contract when I would never be taking the bus again. I thanked them in formal Mexican Spanish (much more Castillian than their relatively sloppy Puertorriqueño Spanish. I was tempted to sing “Que Bonito Bandera” to them, but resisted.

@BlueSun03
That is such a random story, but I enjoyed it nonetheless, lol

Thanks to dlasis for uploading.
Thanks to the seeders for their seeding.
File downloaded quickly and the audio quality is good.
As with the Beginners course I once again, do enjoy the fact that the narrator has a British accent and it makes the contrast between his eloquently delivered English and the beginner Chinese phrases quite pronounced, but that’s what we’re here for.
I continue to find the pronounciation of the lady Chinese speaker to be a bit grating in sound but something one gets used to, but I still prefer the way the male Chinese speaker pronounces words, but that is, as ever, personal preference.
The continuation gives some more fairly basic vocabulary, which I would still consider beginner personally, but it does continue on from the first course, so calling it intermediate seems reasonable as far as this course goes.
Worth it for beginners who go through the first course.

@BlueSun03 You’d immediately give away that you’re a gringo, because ‘bandera’ is feminine, this ‘bonita bandera.’
