Can AI prevent your major cities from burning down or getting smashed by ever more powerful and destructive hurricanes, storms and floods? Can AI halt the ongoing destruction of the industrial agriculture system?
No & No. It requires even more fossil fuels to power which results in more emissions. Notice what the global warming jacked city burning fires in LA did to the pride of so called alt energy battery storage? Burned it to the ground while puking out some of the most toxic smoke around and that is saying a lot.

“By 2030, the report notes, data center energy requirements could account for anywhere between 4.6% and 9.1% of total US electricity generated by 2030. That’s compared to 4% today. The newfound demand isn’t limited to the US either. By 2026, The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates data center energy demand globally could double by 2026.
Much of that predicted rise in demand, the report notes, stems from uniquely power-intensive generative AI models. EPRI estimates a simple query to OpenAI’s ChatGPT requires around 10 times as much electricity as a typical Google search.”

The only BS here is the implying that they never thought it would require so much energy. Yes they did.
It was a no brainer. They will lie to you right up to collapse, which is already baked in.
Any claims to efficiency are negated due to ‘Jevons Paradox’ which has proven true time and time again. All the efficiency gains from LED lighting were squashed by the humans using more lighting. 2023 set records for all time high in global fossil fuel use and all time high in fossil fuel CO2 emissions. When the 2024 data is released it will be the same or worse. 2024 data is out and has confirmed it as the warmest year on record. If space aliens are watching they probably think humans are on a self destruct mission. There are no aliens watching because of Fermi’s Paradox. Humans will likely join the Fermi list by century’s end.
